July 2017 favorite video stock footage files sold via all stock agencies

July is like a bright light at the end of the tunnel showing there is still hope (after terrible June 2017 ). Finally, a good month to praise. Not the best this year (that was April 2017), but much better than last year and year before. Sales at Pond5 ($1139) went well before the summer slump, very decent in fact for such a month. Because in summer everything slows down, it was actually the contrary on few stock agencies. Shutterstock ($1368) also improved since last year, but it didn’t reach our expectations with constant month-to-month growth. It was just slightly better than last year and almost tripled the year before. Dissolve ($181) was a bit disappointing again because there were so much more clips sold last year ($323). It’s a race to the bottom. And there were much more video clips uploaded this year. Fotolia/Adobe ($251) was a bit better this year but still way behind the expanding size of our portfolio. 123RF ($0) and iStockphoto/Getty ($121) are a dead rock to the bottom.
